Global Energy Services becomes Bullfrog Power's first oilpatch client

CALGARY, ALTA-Global Energy Services recently signed an agreement with Toronto-based Bullfrog Power to purchase 100% green power for Global's Calgary headquarters as well as its offices in Grande Prairie and Barrhead. Bullfrog Power will ensure that the amount of electricity used at these offices is produced from clean, renewable power and injected onto the Alberta grid on behalf of Global Energy Services. In Alberta, Bullfrog obtains its green electricity from in-province wind power that is EcoLogo(M) certified under the federal government's Environmental Choice(M) program. "We're delighted to welcome Global Energy Services to the community of bullfrogpowered businesses in Alberta," said Theresa Howland, Bullfrog's western region vice-president, noting that, "As our first oil patch client, Global Energy sets a good example for others in the industry to follow." Global Energy Services, an oil and gas services company, sells its Activator hydraulic submersible pump (HSP) to major energy production companies. In 2006, The Pembina Institute assessed the HSP as a "best practice" product compared with competing technologies. "Our company's hallmark is technological innovation in the oilfield, but we want to demonstrate equal innovation in our environmental practices throughout our operations," said Farhan Farshori, Global's vice-president, corporate development. "Going green is good business and choosing Bullfrog Power was an easy way to help green our operations," he added.
