Participant funding to be provided for Bennett facility panel review
OTTAWA, ONT-The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has indicated that it will provide up to $75,000 for individuals and organizations to take part in the panel review of Bennett Environmental's proposed high-temperature thermal oxidizer project in Belledune, New Brunswick. On June 14, 2004, this project was referred to a federal review panel to assess the significance of the potential transboundary environmental effects of the project in the province of Quebec, on federal lands and in the waters of the Baie des Chaleurs. Applications for funding must be received at the Agency no later than July 26, 2004, in order to be considered. A funding review committee, independent from the review panel, will review applications and recommend allocations in accordance with criteria set out in the Participant Funding Program Guide. To receive the allocated funds, successful applicants are required to sign a contribution agreement with the Agency and must participate in the public hearings convened by the review panel. More information, including the Participant Funding Program Guide is available on the Agency's Web site, www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca. Further details on the participant funding program may also be requested from program manager Peter Bedrossian, 613/957-0254, FAX 613/957-0941, E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.Table of Contents
