Conporec to build new composting facility in Australia

SOREL-TRACY, QUE-Conporec recently concluded the main contractual agreements for the construction of a 100,000-tonne-per-year sorting-composting plant in Mindarie, Australia. The work is expected to begin early in 2008 and take 18 months to complete. Conporec was originally awarded the $4.5-million contract to build and operate a plant for the Mindarie Regional Council last November, but the closing of the transaction was delayed when one of the project partners had to be replaced. Conporec will provide design and engineering services for the project, and will grant the rights and licences to use its technology to BioVision 2020 Pty, a project company set up to design, build, own and operate the new plant for the next 20 years.
