New DM for BC Ministry of Environment
VICTORIA, BC-Joan Hesketh has been appointed British Columbia Deputy Minister of Environment, replacing Chris Trumpy, who has been named Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to Treasury Board. Hesketh was previously associate Deputy Minister of BC's Environmental Assessment Office, a position she had held since June 2003. She has over two decades of government experience in a range of natural resource-related executive positions, including vice president, Land and Water British Columbia Inc, Assistant Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines and Acting Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines. Derek Griffin will serve as acting associate Deputy Minister of the EA Office pending a permanent appointment, expected in the near future.
