Trent University to receive over $2.5M for environmental research projects

PETERBOROUGH, ONT-Researchers working on two environmental projects at Trent University in Peterborough will benefit from over $2.5 million in funding from the Ontario government. The allocations include:

* $1.29 million to create a microenvironment laboratory, a state-of-the-art facility that will use advanced technology to develop more effective environmental management plans related to energy development, water protection, transportation and community health; and

* $1.26 million to upgrade and expand the university's Worsfold water quality centre, which will improve the ability of researchers to determine threats to water resources and provide more sustainable environmental processes for industry and communities.
