Abstract notes (September 10, 2007)
The Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA), in Pittsburgh, has issued a call for abstracts for the 2008 International Conference on Thermal Treatment Technologies (IT3), to be held May 12-16, 2008 in Montreal.
Formerly known as the International Conference on Incineration and Thermal Treatment Technologies, IT3 will focus on the latest advances in thermal treatment of radioactive, hazardous chemical, mixed, munitions, medical/pharmaceutical, municipal and industrial wastes. The event, co-sponsored by the University of Maryland, will also include an exhibition of vendor products and services as well as technical tours and programs.
Suggested topic areas for abstracts include: specific applications of thermal treatment technologies; operational issues; government and regulatory policy issues; the hazardous waste combustor MACT rule; research and development; alternatives to incineration; and alternative energy and greenhouse gas reduction.
The deadline for abstracts is September 28, 2007; authors will be notified of acceptance by November 29, 2007.
