Nexen executive named to NRTEE

OTTAWA, ONT-Wishart Robson, climate change advisor to the president and CEO of Nexen, has been appointed to the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE), effective immediately. In his current post, he provides strategic analysis and advice to Nexen's board and senior executives to help the Calgary-based company prepare for a future carbon economy. Robson has worked in the oil and gas sector for 25 years and prior to that spent 11 years with the Fisheries Research Board of Canada and other federal agencies. His experience includes ecosystem-related studies on topics such as mercury contamination, eutrophication, aquaculture, resource management and the regulation of extractive industries, as well as expertise in emergency response management and fate and effects of marine spills. He joined Nexen in 1997 and represents the company on several national and international industry associations, the International Emissions Trading Association and ICO2N, the Integrated CO2 Network, a Canadian initiative investigating the options available to industry and government in the area of carbon capture and storage.
