Cantox changes company name to Intrinsik

MISSISSAUGA, ONT- Cantox Environmental has changed its company name to Intrinsik, incorporating Intrinsik Environmental Sciences and a new division, Intrinsik Health Sciences. The change reflects the firm's growing range of capabilities. Cantox was originally formed in 1985 by four scientists and gained a reputation as a leading firm in the field of risk assessment in Canada. By 1998, it had become a full-service environmental science company. At that time, differences in its internal business groups led Cantox to reorganize into two separate companies, Cantox Health Sciences International and Cantox Environmental. Under its new name, Intrinsik Environmental can provide extensive expertise in the areas of human health and ecological risk assessment, mammalian and aquatic toxicology, environmental fate and transport modeling, exposure assessment, risk communication and integrated risk management. Through its entry into the health sciences field, Intrinsik Health Sciences provides services relating to the toxicology and regulatory challenges associated with the development of pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, consumer products, natural health products and cosmetics. Expansion in this area will allow the company to provide a higher level of scientific and consultative expertise to all of our clients. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Intrinsik has offices in Halifax, Ottawa and Calgary. More information is available on the company Web site, www.intrinsikscience.com.
