RBC expands list of bullfrogpowered branches in Ontario

TORONTO, ONT-RBC Royal Bank has expanded its list of "bullfrogpowered" branches in Ontario, adding three to the nine in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) already obtaining green energy from Bullfrog Power, the province's first and only 100% green electricity retailer. The three newly-bullfrogpowered RBC Royal Bank branches are the Innes and Lanthier branch, slated to open this spring in Orleans, in the Ottawa region; the Oak Ridges branch in Richmond Hill; and the Gordon and Kortright Branch in Guelph. With the expanded agreement, the total amount of green, carbon-free power produced by Bullfrog's generation partners on behalf of RBC will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 1,000 tonnes annually. RBC was among the first financial institutions in Canada to purchase green power and is active in financing companies in the alternative energy sector in Canada and internationally. Bullfrog Power sources power exclusively from wind and low-impact hydro generators that meet or surpass the federal government's Environmental Choice(M) program EcoLogo(M) standard for renewable electricity. More information is available on the Bullfrog Power Web site, www.bullfrogpower.com.
