Bennett reopens St-Ambroise facility

ST-AMBROISE, QUE-Bennett Environmental recently reopened its contaminated soil treatment facility in St-Ambroise, Quebec to process a stockpile of soils received, together with any additional shipments received while it remains open. The Oakville, Ontario-based company said once these materials have been treated, the facility will again shut down until inventories are adequate to provide economies of scale in processing. Bennett also revised its projections downward, for the second time this year, regarding total quantities of soil to be treated in 2006. Citing weaker than anticipated market conditions, the company no longer expects to treat the 28,000-33,000 tonnes forecast in August; this projection was substantially less than the 30,000 to 40,000 tonnes forecast early in the year.
