Hatch Mott MacDonald acquires Simcoe Engineering Group

MISSISSAUGA, ONT-Hatch Mott MacDonald has acquired the Simcoe Engineering Group, an Ontario-based water and wastewater engineering firm with offices in Pickering and Kingston. The acquisition will add more than 20 people with expertise in water and wastewater engineering to Hatch Mott MacDonald's staff, which currently numbers over 1,200 in North America, including 160 in Mississauga, Burlington and Niagara Falls, Ontario. "The Simcoe organization will bring additional capabilities in asset and information management, water and wastewater process, conveyance and distribution, greatly increasing our 'bench strength' in the Ontario market," said Nicholas DeNichilo, president of Hatch Mott MacDonald. Simcoe Engineering president Don Cane said combining the two firms' capabilities will enable Simcoe to provide expanded service to its clients and open new business opportunities.
