Bennett shuts down St Ambroise facility, accepts president's resignation
OAKVILLE, ONT-Bennett Environmental recently reported that its St Ambroise, Quebec facility has been temporarily shut down due to lack of sufficient soils to process cost-effectively. The shutdown is expected to last until the beginning of September. The company has also accepted the resignation of president and CEO Al Bulckaert, who said that "with most, if not all, of the problems left by past management having now been resolved and with a new and independent Board of Directors being proposed to the shareholders, this is an appropriate time for me to step aside and pursue other challenges and opportunities." Bulckaert also resigned his seat on the board of directors, although he will remain available to assist the firm during the transition phase. Pending selection of a new president and CEO, his duties will be carried out by an office of the CEO, consisting of David Williams, chair of the board of directors, and chief financial officer Andrew Boulanger.
