Participant funding programsset up for forthcoming joint reviews
OTTAWA, ONT-The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has established participant funding programs for environmental assessment reviews of two projects, expected to be conducted by a Canada-Alberta joint panel. Each program will provide up to $100,000 to help the public take part in public hearings to be held as part of the anticipated joint reviews of the proposed Kearl Lake oil sands development project and the proposed Muskeg River mine expansion project, both in northern Alberta. The allocation of the federal funds will be made on the basis of applications received by the Agency no later than July 14, 2006.
