Irving Oil charged with failing to report contaminant release

FREDERICTON, NB-Irving Oil has been charged with one count of violating the water quality regulation under New Brunswick's Clean Environment Act. The charge, laid by the provincial Department of Environment and Local Government, alleges that between January 19 and 20, 2005, the company failed to report immediately the discharge of a contaminant into the environment near Trout Brook. A court date has been set for March 20, 2006.
