Clean Water Centre plans advanced treatment technology demonstration site
WALKERTON, ONT-The Walkerton Clean Water Centre is planning to develop an interim state-of-the-art technology demonstration site incorporating conventional and advanced water treatment systems, monitoring and control instruments, a distribution system, numerous kinds of operating devices (e.g., valves and pumps), and other equipment. The Centre also hopes to include a pilot-scale system at the site, for use in hands-on training, technology demonstration and research. Accordingly, the Centre is inviting drinking water equipment manufacturers and suppliers to participate in building this state-of-the-art site by donating equipment and instruments that would be representative of the advanced treatment technologies currently being used in the drinking water industry. In addition to providing companies in this sector an opportunity to introduce their technologies to drinking water professionals, the initiative will contribute to keeping operators, operating authorities of water treatment systems, engineers and consultants up to date on the latest developments in water treatment. The Centre would also help educators and students improve their knowledge.
