GL&V acquires wastewater treatment products from Finnish pulp and paper firm

MONTREAL, QUE-Groupe Laperriere & Verreault (GL&V) has acquired from Metso Paper the intellectual property rights for a number of wastewater treatment products oriented to the pulp and paper sector. The purchase includes the rights to two new-generation technologies, i.e the dissolved air microflotation system and the FlooBed(r) bioreactor. The Finnish firm's Paper Chemical Systems unit decided to divest these operations in order to focus on its core pulp and paper equipment manufacturing business. GL&V's Water Treatment Group was selected as Metso Paper's industrial partner, based on the Montreal company's ability to leverage the full potential of these technologies and ensure their support, after-sales service and marketing worldwide. GL&V provides liquid/solid separation technologies used in a large number of industrial, municipal and environmental processes. More information is available on the company's Web site, www.glv.com
