ICF Consulting awarded NRTEE contract for long-term low-emission strategic analysis
TORONTO, ONT-ICF Consulting has been retained by the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) to conduct a low-emission scenario analysis for Canada. The purpose of the study will be to determine how Canada can reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 60% by the year 2050. The $330,000 contract is expected to be complete by March 2006. ICF's global climate change experts will perform extensive energy scenario modelling and analysis to identify the combination of technological and other factors that will contribute to a low-emission future for Canada. NRTEE's goal for this program is to have ICF Consulting provide an informed analysis of the strategic directions for energy and climate policy the government must pursue now to put the country on course toward a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in a manner that will contribute to Canada's economic prosperity and competitiveness. ICF Consulting leads an expert team that includes Systematic Solutions and the Centre for Spatial Economics, which are providing support in energy and macroeconomic modelling.
