CEC presents 3rd review of trade's environmental impacts
MONTREAL, QUE-The Commission for Environmental Co-operation (CEC) is presenting the third North American Symposium on Assessing the Environmental Effects of Trade, to be held November 30 and December 1, 2005 at the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel in Montreal. Sessions will focus on the impact of investment and economic growth on the environment, addressing issues such as market-based drivers for sustainable growth, transfer of clean technology and business practices, and whether policies have led to better environmental performance by foreign investors. The event will be opened by Karen Kraft-Sloan, Canada's Ambassador for the Environment, with a keynote address delivered by Dan Esty, director of Yale University's Center for Environmental Law and Policy. Due to limited space, participants are encouraged to register before 14 October 2005. More information, including a registration form and draft agenda, is available on the CEC Web site, www.cec.org/symposium.
