Fasken Martineau ranked top environmental law firm by international legal guide
MONTREAL, QUE- Fasken Martineau has been ranked as the best firm in Canada for environmental law by the Guide to the World's Leading Environment Lawyers 2005. In addition, six of Fasken Martineau's partners were singled out for recognition and nominated for inclusion in the publication. They include André Durocher (Montréal), Marc-André Fabien (Montréal), Charles Kazaz (Montréal and Toronto), Pierre Meunier (Montréal), David Searle, QC (Vancouver), and Paul Wilson (Vancouver). The combined recognition of these six senior environmental lawyers placed Fasken Martineau as the top Canadian firm in the field. The guide, published by the British-based Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, is the result of 18 months of independent research incorporating feedback from both in-house counsel and lawyers in private practice. Euromoney conducts international research on the legal industry for its publications, which cover a wide array of practice areas and industries. Fasken Martineau has 30 lawyers in its Environmental and Energy Practice Group. The firm as a whole has more than 580 lawyers at its offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, as well as in New York, London, and Johannesburg.
