Suncor again ranked as sustainability leader on leading global indexes

CALGARY, ALTA-Suncor Energy has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the seventh consecutive year. The company, which has been included in the annual worldwide list of sustainability leaders since its inception in 1999, has also been named to the FTSE4Good Global Index for the fifth straight year. This index, produced by the U.K.-based FTSE Group, features companies that meet globally recognized corporate social responsibility standards. "Suncor's consistent presence on these important indexes reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable development," said Gordon Lambert, Suncor's vice president of sustainable development. "Stakeholder expectations for triple bottom line performance are increasing and we will strive to continue to meet those expectations." The DJSI World is based on a review of a number of economic, social and environmental criteria. More information is available on the Index Web site, www.sustainability-index.com.
