Agrimax ordered to submit overdue environmental reports
CALGARY, ALTA-Two enforcement orders issued to Agrimax, owner and operator of an Irricana sulfur processing plant, required the company to submit immediately nine overdue air emissions, groundwater monitoring and water usage reports as required under its operating approval and water licence. The company must also submit a written report by April 4, 2005 detailing how it has complied with its approval terms and conditions. The orders were issued by the Alberta government under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act and the Water Act. They are intended to ensure that immediate action is taken to correct a situation. If the terms of the orders are not met, the Alberta government can initiate further enforcement action.
