Province provides $60K to support BC Climate Exchange

VICTORIA, BC-The British Columbia government is providing $60,000 in support for the BC Climate Exchange, a program that provides information on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Designed, operated and maintained by the Fraser Basin Council (FBC), the program is beginning its fourth year of operation, connecting people to education and training as well as other resources and tools to address climate change. "The BC Climate Exchange provides a wealth of information hat allows governments, business and the public to not only learn about climate change but also about ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," noted Water, Land and Air Protection Minister Bill Barisoff. His ministry also provided a $15,000 grant to help the FBC develop the Greenhouse Gas Action Guide, designed to help local governments launch community-based GHG reduction initiatives. More information is available on-line at www.bcclimateexchange.ca and www.ghgactionguide.ca
