Company owner banned from handling hazwaste, recyclables for two years
DRUMHELLER, ALTA-In addition to imposing a $1,000 fine, the provincial court has ordered Bryan Fear, owner of Coverall Coveralls, not to handle or store hazardous wastes or recyclables as a commercial operator until January 27, 2007. Fear pleaded guilty charges under Alberta's Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act of unlawfully storing hazardous recyclables at a location near Acme, Alberta. The charges resulted from an Alberta Environment investigation which found that the company had failed to properly store hazardous recyclables transported to Alberta from its British Columbia operation. Coverall Coveralls generated the hazardous recyclables after cleaning clothing and cloths used in the printing industry.
