Ontario Environmental Commissioner invites comments as part of EBR ten-year review
TORONTO, ONT-February 2004 marked the tenth anniversary of the coming into force of Ontario's landmark Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR) legislation. At this milestone, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario (ECO) is initiating a pre-consultation as a lead-up to a full review of the legislation. Comments are invited from all users of the EBR, outlining their interests and concerns. Input received through the pre-consultation process will be used to scope the forthcoming review of the legislation. To facilitate the comment procedure, the ECO has drawn up a questionnaire through which respondents can provide their views on what aspects of the EBR are working well and what enhancements might help it work better.
