Dynetek signs new supply deal with Ford
CALGARY, ALTA-Dynetek Industries has been selected to provide complete, on-board hydrogen fuel storage systems for Ford's 2004 Ford Focus FCV zero emission automobiles. The fuel storage and components system will incorporate Dynetek's certified 350 bar (5000 psi) hydrogen fuel storage system. The storage systems and components will all be approved to NGV-2 2000 for North American use. Because a number of these same systems are to be shipped to the European market for automotive use, they have also been approved to German TUV requirements. Dynetek has been providing hydrogen storage systems to Ford since 1999, and in August 2000 signed a purchase and supply deal with the automaker. Under this arrangement, Dynetek supplies compressed hydrogen storage cylinders for Ford's fuel cell zero emission vehicle programs in return for an equity incentive program which will earn Ford a minority interest in Dynetek. The Calgary-based company designs, produces and markets lightweight, advanced fuel storage and refueling systems for compressed natural gas, low-emission vehicles and compressed hydrogen, zero-emission fuel cell vehicles.
