Seminar to review latest advances in clean energy for greenhouses

LEAMINGTON, ONT-Government and industry sponsors and organizers will present "Green Energy for Greenhouses," a one-day conference to be held at the Roma Club in Leamington, Ont. Commercial greenhouses constitute one of the fastest-growing agri-business segments, and energy costs account for 30 to 40% of greenhouse production expenses. Experts from Canada and the Netherlands, whose well-established greenhouse industry has long been taking advantage of renewable energy sources and energy conservation strategies, will discuss the latest developments. Presentations will cover topics such as biomass and biofuels, use of wind energy, cogeneration and trigeneration, geothermal/earth energy, landfill gas, energy savings through clustering, and the newest trends in greenhouse efficiency.
