Construction firm charged with altering watercourse without permit
FREDERICTON, NB-A Grand Falls construction company was recently charged with violating section 15(1)(b) of New Brunswick's Clean Water Act. The Department of the Environment and Local Government alleged that on October 17, 2003, Pierre Morin Construction undertook a watercourse alteration without having been issued a permit by the Minister of the Environment and Local Government. The offence is alleged to have occurred along the Saint John River in the Grand Falls area. If convicted, the company could face a maximum fine of $1 million.
