Magog recovers part of site cleanup costs through Revi-Sols grant
QUEBEC CITY, QUE-A grant of nearly $113,000 from Quebec's Revi-Sols program for contaminated site remediation will enable the city of Magog to recover a portion of the costs of cleaning up a former auto dealership property where levels of hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds exceeded acceptable provincial criteria. The cleanup project improved the user safety of a bicycle path and enabled both the creation of a park and the construction of a new building on the site. The work represented a total investment of $750,000, of which nearly $200,000 was spent on decontamination. The Revi-Sols grant compensated Magog for over half the expenses incurred by the municipality for decontaminating the site.
