Air quality approval renewed for Irving's Grande Rivière sawmill
FREDERICTON, NB-The air quality operating approval for JD Irving's Scierie Grande Rivière, a softwood sawmill located in Saint-LÈonard, will be renewed for a five-year term, effective July 31, 2004. The renewal follows public consultation, included a 120-day public review period running from January to May 2004. By the end of the review period, no comments had received from the public by the Department of Environment and Local Government regarding the sawmill or its current air quality operating approval. "I am satisfied with the facility's compliance performance over the period of their previous approval and with the requirements contained in the renewal," said Environment and Local Government Minister Brenda Fowlie. The Grande Rivière facility produces approximately 200 million board feet of dimensional lumber per year from spruce pine and fir. The new Approval with identification number I-4308, will replace the existing Approval I-1761. More information is available on-line at www.gnb.ca/0009/0355/0005/0005-e.html.
