First Quebec forum to be held on CSR, sustainability

MONTREAL, QUE-The Tremblant Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability will present some 20 speakers from large corporations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and governments, who will address critical CSR issues. The one-day event, to be held September 16 at the Westin Resort & Spa in Mont-Tremblant, represents the first time a major event focusing on CSR has been presented in Quebec. It will enable corporate social responsibility professionals from leading companies to exchange ideas with representatives of organizations that evaluate their performance (such as ethical investment funds, regulatory agencies, environmental groups) in a forum open to the general public. Among the discussion topics will be: how to improve environmental performance while reducing costs; the role of public/private/NGO partnerships; how to reconcile fair trade and profits; and the implications of Kyoto for business. The forum is being organizaed by National Public Relation's Montreal office, in association with several other partners, including EnCana, BCE, the Business Development Corporation and the National Bank. Registration and other information is available by calling 514/843-7171 or on the Internet at www.tremblantforum.org.
