Whale halts operations at NS Power's Annapolis Tidal Plant
ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, NS-Nova Scotia Power halted operations at its Annapolis Tidal Power Plant last week after visitors, townsfolk and Annapolis Tidal Power staff sighted a 20-foot humpback whale in the Annapolis River. The whale apparently entered through the gates adjacent to the tidal plant. NS Power asked boaters to stay away in order to give the whale plenty of room as it tries to return through the tidal gates. The whale requires quiet and space to navigate its way back home.
