Tahera receives federal approval for Jericho diamond project

TORONTO, ONT-Tahera Corporation's Jericho diamond project has been approved by the Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs, the company reported last week. The federal approval follows an approval granted in February by the Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB), which will soon issue a project certificate. Having received these approvals, Tahera can now proceed with finalizing other required authorizations, such as the water permit and land leases. This process should be completed during 2004, enabling the company to meet its goal of starting construction early in 2005 of what will be Nunavut's first diamond mine. Tahera has successfully completed the environmental assessment process for the Jericho diamond project and has finalized an Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement with the Kitikmeot Inuit Association. More information is available on the company's Web site, www.tahera.com.
