GM sells first hybrid trucks in Canada
OSHAWA, ONT-General Motors of Canada has sold the first hybrid trucks in the industry to customers across the country, company president Michael Grimaldi announced recently. "The introduction of the industry's first hybrid trucks is the next phase in our strategy of focusing on the highest fuel consuming vehicles first," Grimaldi said. "We already have a hybrid transit bus. We now have a hybrid truck and will soon introduce hybrid SUV's and passenger cars," he added. GM is producing hybrid trucks as Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra full-size pickups. They may now be purchased by fleet owners and will be available to retail consumers later this year.
