EBC signs MOU with Dutch biomass firm to advance bio-energy development in Canada
NIAGARA FALLS, ONT-Environmental Business Consultants and Biomass Technology Group (BTG) of the Netherlands last week signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for co-operation in developing the Canadian market for bio-energy. BTG and EBC will work together to introduce, promote and implement bio-energy in Canada. The partnership will focus on developing and financing bio-energy strategy studies, feasibility and pre-investment studies, pilot projects and construction of proven bio-energy plants. This agreement expands on an MOU between the Dutch and Canadian governments on the exchange of know-how and experiences related to renewable energy. EBC, based in Toronto, provides financial and management expertise, while BTG has worldwide experience and expertise in bio-energy. Last week's MOU was signed by James Sbrolla, president and director of EBC, and Rene Venendaal, managing director of BTG. The signing took place in Niagara Falls during a one-day workshop on Green Energy for Greenhouses and Other Applications, sponsored in part by Environment Canada and the Consulate General of the Netherlands.
