Fraser Papers air quality permit to be renewed
FREDERICTON, NB-The air quality operating approval for the Nexfor Fraser Papers pulp mill in Edmunston will be renewed for a five-year period effective August 1, 2003. Environment and Local government Minister Kim Jardine noted that the approval comes with a number of added new requirements, based on a review of the current permit and on issues raised during the public consultation period for the renewal application. The review period ran from December 2002 to May 2003. Jardine said the new terms "include the development and implementation of additional particulate reduction plans and the completion of various studies and reports to determine if any environment-related improvements can be made in other areas of the mill's operation."
